| | | | Write us a letter ADHD in the School System We Want to Hear about Your Experiences With the Education System! These letters will be used to help us emphasize what is happening to children with ADHD in the school systems. We have been told by the Ministry of Education that since they are not hearing about the difficulties that students with ADHD are having being recognized as “Special Needs” students in Ontario, they do not see the need to change the way ADHD is recognized or not recognized. They are unaware of the extreme difficulties these students are having accessing the appropriate accommodations that are their right as stipulated by the Ontario Human Rights Commision. From your frequent and often desperate phone calls expressing your extreme frustrations with the sytem we are very aware of your difficulties. Because of this we are asking for your assistance. Please: - Write us a letter or e-mail detailing your experiences trying to access services for your child with ADHD in the public or separate school systems
- The letter can be as brief or as detailed as you want
- It can be casual – in point form – or more formal, as you see fit
- Do not worry about your writing skills
- The thoughts and feeling expressed are the important thing
- The more personal you can make the letter, the better
- The more examples that you can give, the better
We will be collecting these letters and e-mails to assist us with demonstrating exactly how difficult it can be to access support for students with ADHD. Send your letters to: CADDAC40 Wynford Drive Suite 304B Toronto, ON M3C 1J5 or
