Advocacy Campaigns
CADDAC supports many ADHD advocacy campaigns across Canada. Our members are encouraged to supply us with information on local or provincial issues they may be presently working on, or view as a possible campaign. Campaigns include all issues that affect the lives of people with ADHD. The campaign may be local, provincial or national.

At this time the two issues that we are primarily focused on are that:

A student with a diagnosis of ADHD qualify as an exceptional learner, if their ADHD impacts their learning, therefore giving them the "right" to access accommodations to assist with their learning.

Long acting medication be made available for those adults on Provincial Drug Plans and their children.

Please access the letters that have been sent to and from the Ministries overseeing these issues as well as the information on past events, powerpoint presentations, press releases and meetings that we have had in regards to these two advocacy initiatives.

We encourage everyone who is interested in seeing change happen around these issues to discuss the current situation and what needs to be done about it with your MPP and MP.

Write a letter to the Minster and Deputy Ministers in charge of these issues and forward a copy to CADDAC.

Also, please write letters to your local papers.

At this time ADHD is not on anyone's radar in the government. We need to change this if we want change to happen.

We also encourage you to become a member of CADDAC to add you voice to the effort.
